The Washburn AB5 is a fantastically priced electro-acoustic bass with beautiful sound and great presence in a relatively small body. Comfortable and fun to play.

Affordable Price Tag, Professional Sound

The Washburn AB5K electro-acoustic bass guitar has been constructed to give you great sound and playability. The body features a spruce top with mahogany back and sides with a cutaway to allow easy playing of the higher frets. Great for bass solos and more melodious bass lines. For added comfort and ease of portability, the body of the AB5 acoustic bass is relatively small. Fitting somewhere between a full-on dreadnought and a skinnier thin-line style bass, the AB5 has the best of both worlds.

The AB5 delivers awesome sound with great low end and good projection with enough volume to be nicely audible alongside other acoustic instruments, even when unplugged.

On-Board Electronics

The AB5 acoustic bass features one of Washburn’s own premium Equis acoustic pre-amplifiers. The pre-amp is powered by a 9V battery and receives its signal from a piezo-pick up fitted in the bridge.  Also on the Washburn AB5, you’ll find some powerful EQ options allowing you to adjust bass, mids, treble and the overall ‘presence’. An integrated “Phase” button allows you to switch the phase of your audio signal to help eliminate feedback when performing.
