True Fender Heritage

By the end of the 1950s Fender were already big players in the world of musical instruments thanks to the release of the Telecaster, Stratocaster, and Precision bass.

However, the 1960 release of the Deluxe Model (later renamed as the Jazz Bass) saw the introduction of all-new standards in the construction of electric bass guitars.

Originally aimed at Jazz bassists, the Fender Jazz Bass featured a thinner and more-rounded neck than the rock-solid Precision, alongside two Single Coil pickups.

This resulted in a much more versatile range of tones, and a level of playability never before seen on the instrument, which resulted in the Jazz Bass becoming one of the best-selling instruments of all time – which continues to this day!
