The Gibson 60s Les Paul Standard, seen here crafted for Left Handed players and with a gorgeous Bourbon Burst finish, sees the return of a vintage Gibson design – a traditional early 60s Les Paul Standard.
With its original-style, non-weight-relief construction, incredible PAF-like pickups, and gorgeous aesthetics, this guitar is as stylish and toneful as they come.
The Return Of A Left-Handed Classic Design
In 1957 Gibson introduced the world to the first humbucker – the legendary Patent Applied For (aka PAF) pickup. These thick-sounding pickups introduced a whole new tonal pallete to players, and helped shape the musical landscape for decades to come.
By the early 1960s the PAF’s AlNico 2 magnets were replaced with a more powerful AlNico 5, giving players more headroom, and giving the new Les Paul Standard a voice of its own.
Now, to honour those legendary original Standard models, Gibson have released the all-new Les Paul Standard 60s model – a welcome return to a classic design.

A Classic Design Revisited
True to those early 60s Les Paul Standards, these new models feature the traditional single cutaway design. This guitar’s body is crafted from a Solid Mahogany back, and capped with a piece of AA Figured Maple, combining gorgeous aesthetics with that renowned warm tone.
On top of this, there’s a set-in Mahogany neck, with a slim-taper profile, giving a rock-solid feel, and a truly comfortable playing experience.
Vintage Rock Tone
To recreate that powerful, early ’60s, AlNico V PAF tone, Gibson have fitted a set of BurstBucker 61 pickups to the new Les Paul Standard.
Whether you want those thick, creamy Neck position tones for a guitar solo, or those biting Bridge position sounds for some heavy riffing, this is the guitar for you.
