Whilst certain details on these guitars may have changed over the years, there’s a few things you know are a certainty before you even play one: it’s going to sound incredible, and it’s going to play like nothing you’ve ever played before!

Built To Perform

Anyone familiar with Satriani’s work over the decades will know that the man loves to put on a great performance, so it’s certainly a given that his signature guitars will be designed to help with that.

In this case the guitar has been crafted with his signature JS body style, crafted from a lightweight and resonanty piece of Alder, and has been equipped with a super-slick JS neck.

The neck has been created from both Maple and Bubinga and designed to maximise stability and sustain, whilst still being incredly lightweight and offering your fretting hand as much comfort as you could wish for.

In addition to this, the Rosewood fingerboard has been given Ibanez’s famed Prestige Fret Edge treatment, which allows your hand to liberally glide up and down the neck with ease.

Super-Versatile Electronics

Powering the voice of this amazing guitar is a pair of DiMarzio pickups, carefully crafted to match the needs of Satriani himself – a Satch Track humbucker at the neck, and a Mo’Joe humbucker at the bridge.

With the Satch Track you get an articulate, vocal, and musical single-coil-sized humbucker that’s reminiscent of DiMarzio’s awesome Fast Track, and which quickly tracks both pick attack and string vibration, whilst offering a wider and stronger voice than a normal Single Coil pickup.

At the bridge position, the Mo’Joe can be described as a hotter, “bigger” pickup to replace his famous “FRED” humbucker, which has been used on his signature Ibanez guitars for years. Whilst this pickup offers plenty of power, it doesn’t sacrifice on clarity or dynamics, and is packed full of harmonic overtones for those slinky legato lead lines.

In addition to this, both the Volume and Tone controls feature Push/Pull functions that offer a Hi-Pass filter (Volume) and Coil-Tap (Tone) option for even more tonal versatility.

Premium-Grade Hardware

Bringing it all together you will find a whole host of high-end hardware, specially-designed to maximise both performance and reliability.

Amongst this hardware you will find an Edge Tremolo bridge – a firm favourite of Joe Satriani’s for many years – with a corresponding locking nut, allowing you to perform even the most outrageous pitch bends and divebombs, without ever compromising your tuning stability.
