Most guitarists will be familiar with the standard Martin D-18 dreadnought, renowned for its incredible stage presence and all-round tone.
An Authentic 1930s Playing Experience
This Authentic 1939 edition is a period-correct masterpiece, faithfully modelling the original pre-WWII era detailing thanks to a CAT Scan machine at the Smithsonian institute for incredible precision.
In 1935, Martin introduced standard D-18 features that included solid mahogany body, Adirondack spruce top, 14-fret neck, and ebony fingerboard and bridge.
This 1930s D-18 is lightweight and has a wonderful dry, treble voice and strong, well-balanced bass, making them ideal for stage and recording players.
Era-Accurate Appointments
A host of period-correct “18” authentic-style appointments – such as an authentic neck barrel and heel – help to make the authenticity complete.
In addition to this, Martin’s new Vintrage Tone System (VTS) has been employed for the top and braces, which helps to recreate the the special tones generated by a guitar from the era in question.
