Retro Design, Modern Construction

The PT Special is a modern retro-inspired masterpiece. Made with the same quality and construction from Shecter’s biggest lines but with specialised development to meet the requirements of niche players.

The body is made of Swamp Ash making it incredibly lightweight which means you can play for much longer without discomfort setting in from carrying a heavy guitar, which in turns leads to better playing as you can focus more on your performance.

Retro style bolt-on construction sees a Maple neck being joined to the body, adding mid-range punch and old school visual flair. The fretboard is a highly playable Maple wood and features black dot inlays for fret position markers.

Quality Electronics

To get a great tone that carries on the vintage sound but suitable for modern players, Schecter have installed two Schecter Diamond pickups.

The bridge position is the Schecter Diamond VT-1 and the neck position holds the Schecter Diamond V-90.

Using metal knurled knobs, you can control the Volume and Tone with the Tone being a Series-Parallel Push-Pull control and three-way switch allows you to choose your pickup use.

Great Hardware

At the top of the neck, you’ll find Schecter have installed a Graph Tech XL Ivory TUSQ nut. TUSQ is a marvellous material that is precision engineered under high heat and pressure to enhance the frequencies that remain in the guitar strings, resulting in fantastic sustain. It is also permanently lubricated so you don’t have to worry about future touch ups.

High quality Grover Vintage tuners are used so you get the perfect combination of vintage looks but with modern functionality. The Grover Vintage tuners allow for quick, stable and precise tuning and for true retro styling, the bridge is a vintage ashtray design with staggered brass saddles.
