Taylor’s Grand Concert body shape is relatively small and comfortable compared to it’s big brother (the Grand Auditorium), and has been designed specifically with acoustic fingerstyle players in mind.  The tapered waist design helps keep the guitar’s overtones in check, resulting in a sound that’s both clear and tonally balanced in a comfortable-to-play package.

Exquisite Tonewoods

The 312ce-N’s construction pairs both a Sitka Spruce top – one of the most popular tonewoods around – with Sapele back & sides – widely regarded as one of the best all-around tonewoods there is.  The solid Sitka Spruce top combines both strength and elasticity, which results in a broad dynamic range with bright articulation, helping to really project the guitar’s voice with plenty of clarity.

Sapele is not only tonally comparible to Mahogany – albeit with a little extra treble zing – but is also highly sustainable too, making it an environmentally responsible wood choice.  Together with the Sitka Spruce top, the Sapele body helps the 312ce-N deliver a sound that’s not only as mellow as you could want a nylon-stringed guitar to be, but with enough dynamic clarity to sit well in the mix, whether you’re in the studio or performing live with a band.

Taylor ES-N Electronics

The ES-N is an under-saddle transducer pickup system, with a preamp design and controls that have been customised to fully compliment a guitar with nylon strings.  The standard control knobs help you shape the tone whilst preserving the natural design aesthetic of the guitar.  Whether you’re performing live or in the studio, the ES-N pickup system makes the experience that little bit more comfortable.
