The Washburn acoustic bass guitar is favoured by many artists due to its professional level of playability and sound quality and they don’t break the bank either!

Constructed for Great Sound

The Washburn AB5BK electro-acoustic bass guitar has been constructed to give you great sound and playability. The body features a spruce top with mahogany back and sides with a cutaway to allow easy playing of the higher frets. Great for bass solos and more melodious bass lines.

For added comfort and ease of portability, the body of the AB5BK acoustic bass is relatively small. Fitting somewhere between a full-on dreadnought and a skinnier thin-line style bass, the AB5B has the best of both worlds.

The AB5B delivers awesome sound with great low end and good projection with enough volume to be nicely audible alongside other acoustic instruments, even when unplugged.

On-Board Electronics

The AB5B acoustic bass features one of Washburn’s own premium Equis acoustic pre-amplifiers. The pre-amp is powered by a 9V battery and receives its signal from a piezo-pick up fitted in the bridge.

Also on the Washburn AB5B, you’ll find some powerful EQ options allowing you to adjust bass, mids, treble and the overall ‘presence’. An integrated “Phase” button allows you to switch the phase of your audio signal to help eliminate feedback when performing.

Professional Level Playability

The mahogany neck of the AB5B is relatively slim so it’s really easy and comfortable to play. The fretboard is Black Walnut with 22 jumbo size frets.

The cutaway design of the mahogany and spruce body means it’s nice and easy to reach for the higher frets should you need to.

Suitable for all sorts of styles and extremely playable, the Washburn AB5B is a great electro-acoustic bass coming in at a very nice price point.
