Crafting the Washburn WP11SNS
For the Washburn WP11SNS parlour style guitar, Washburn have gone back over one hundred years and revived the classic Style 306 design which they originally gave us in 1889!
For the resonating top, the Washburn WP11SNS features Western Red Cedar wood.
Less dense than the more commonly used Spruce, Western Red Cedar adds a certain extra warmth to your tone and is ideal for finger picking styles and players with a softer approach to their performance.
For the back and sides, Washburn have opted for Mahogany. Already adding the guitar’s visual beauty, the Mahogany adds fantastic midrange to your tone and is known for its great balance and articulation.
Quarter sawn scalloped Sitka Spruce X-bracing has been used, making for an incredibly strong and secure build while enhancing resonance.
Attached to the body is an incredibly smooth playing satin finished Mahogany neck which holds a Walnut fingerboard.
Great Features
With the Washburn WP11SNS acoustic guitar, there are a number of features that enhance both its performance and looks.
On the body of the WP11SNS is a Washburn “smile” style Walnut bridge, offering great transfer of vibration from the strings to the resonating Western Red Cedar top.
Around the soundhole is a “Style 306” abalone rosette for a beautiful and unique aesthetic.
A bone nut is in use, providing a naturally bright and organic sound to your tone. Just above it you’ll find six gold finished open gear tuning machines providing great looks and secure tuning of your strings.
Great Looking Parlour Guitar with Sound to Match
Being a parlour guitar, the Washburn WP11SNS has a smaller body and is very manageable, particularly so with its 24.75” scale.
This parlour style size and shaping gives it a great clarity that makes it ideal for recording and being mic’d up for stage performance.
