Designed in collaboration with John Patitucci, the highly-renowned jazz bassist and arguably one of the greatest of his kind – Yamaha have created the TRBJP2 6-string bass to perfectly reflect his expansive playing style and versatile tone.

Versatile Body

Built around a 4-ply laminated body coated in a luxurious translucent dark red finish, the unique selection of figured maple, ash, alder and maple are layered to produce an incredibly rich and resonant tone. Complete with sculpted cutaways, the body is built for maximum comfort as well as playability – allowing for easy access all the way up to the mind-blowing 26th fret.

Custom-Length Neck

The 35-inch super-long scale, 26 fret neck is bolted on to the body for superb durability and stability. Fitted with a double truss rod to further counter the tension created by the six strings, you can expect the intonation to never stray. Topped with white perloid pegheads and an ebony fingerboard, the eye-catching ‘Patitucci’ custom-design inlays make sure that you, and everyone else, never forget the legendary musician behind this beautiful custom instrument.

Inside the engine room of this tonal machine are a pair of TRBJP2 Custom Pickups – designed by Yamaha themselves, under supervision from Patitucci, these custom Alnico V designed pickups deliver incredible clarity and tonal image – designed specifically for clear chord voicings and incredibly expressive playing.

Complete with a solid brass bridge to further enhance your dynamic clarity and richness, the TRBJP2 includes a set of 5 individual controls including a 3-band EQ – so you can easily tailor your tone to suit, even when live on stage!
